6 Music Festival returns to Greater Manchester this year, but if you're not in the area, you can still enjoy the festival from the comfort of your home!

This year's event, taking place from 26-29 March, will see global premieres of brand new live shows, new music debuts, and unique collaborations, with names including Kae Tempest, Mogwai and Ezra Collective - so you won't want to miss a moment. Read more about the line up here.

From listening live to 6 Music and following their social media, to catching up on sets on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ iPlayer and ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sounds, to watching the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ iPlayer Channel from Monday 4 March, we've got you covered.

Listen live on 6 Music

If you want to enjoy 6 Music Festival with some of your favourite 6 Music DJs and presenters, then you can follow it step by step by listening to 6 Music live over the course of the weekend, on your radio or live on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Sounds.

Our presenters will be on the ground at the festival bringing you all the atmosphere and excitement, so make sure you join them live on the radio!

Here's when the live performances will be kicking off:

  • Wednesday 26 March - from 7pm with the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Introducing night (Adult DVD, Renee Stormz, jasmine.4.t)
  • Thursday 27 March - from 7pm with Fat Dog and Ezra Collective, followed by New Music Fix DJ sets
  • Friday 28 March - from 7pm with English Teacher and Mogwai, followed by Indie Forever DJ sets (Lava La Rue, Steve Lamacq, Viagra Boys, Nathan Shepherd)
  • Saturday 28 March - from 3pm with Morning After Mix Live (Emma-Jean Thackeray), then 7pm with Perfume Genius and Kae Tempest, followed by Rave Forever DJ sets (SBTRKT, Anish Kumar, Nora, Ayy Den)

Lead up + festival weekend

Available from the start of March, you will be able to watch archive indie performances from 6 Music Festival over the years on iPlayer - or watch highlights on our 24/7 Music Channel from Monday 17 March.

Then on Saturday 27 March from 1pm, the Channel will join this year’s festival as some of your favourite 6 Music presenters guide you through excerpts from this year’s performances from Fat Dog, Ezra Collective, English Teacher and Mogwai, and live performances from Perfume Genius and Kae Tempest.
