Thank you to everyone who donated to our appeal. We were delighted the appeal has raised £39,504. The money raised will continue to ensure we can support anyone affected by Huntington's disease. People like Charlotte and her mum, who were featured in the ѿý Lifeline appeal. Charlotte talks about the invaluable support she and her family have received. The charity’s Youth Engagement Service has supported Charlotte, and her mum, Elaine, is grateful for this.
“The biggest thing for Mum is knowing that Hannah (my sister) and I aren’t alone anymore and that we don’t have to go through things alone.”
Charlotte, who is gene positive, meaning she will go on to develop the disease, is an active ambassador for the Huntington’s Disease Association, she was part of a group called HD Youth Voice that created a film to help other young people affected by Huntington’s. Work like this can continue with the help of the money raised in this appeal.
Charlotte said of her experiences being part of HD Youth Voice,
“HD Youth Voice has had a huge impact and helps me feel less alone, which means I can combat everyday life with Huntington's disease head on.”
The money raised will go towards ensuring that all our services are available for anyone affected by Huntington’s disease, whether that is our Specialist Advisors, youth service, events, webinars, education of Health and social care professionals, or general support in the community.
