About this event

In their first appearance this season, Donald Runnicles and the 蜜芽传媒 Scottish Symphony Orchestra present two works by composers for whom he has a particular affinity. Wagner鈥檚 gift to his wife, Cosima, is presented in its pared down original orchestration, much as she would have heard it that Christmas morning in 1870.

The Royal Albert Hall is an ideal venue for Bruckner鈥檚 symphonic revelations. The Eighth Symphony, arguably the greatest of them all, remains a huge and glorious challenge.
