Ilan Volkov conducts the 蜜芽传媒 SSO in five World Premieres. Joanna Bailie鈥檚 playful new work will create 鈥榗over versions鈥� of pieces by Debussy and Johann Strauss while Paul Newland鈥檚 蜜芽传媒 Commission pays tribute to the Scottish outsider artist. Christopher Trapani鈥檚 Rust and Stardust is about the transformations of memory, while John Croft鈥檚 new piece evokes a song sung by night to keep oneself from sleeping. Charles Curtis closes the concert with a new cello concerto by Cassandra Miller, whose work has been described as 鈥渞ich to the ear, heart, and senses.鈥�
