My brother, Bernard, was in the Royal Navy - He was ships company, a Petty Officer. He served on the HMS Implacable, an aircraft carrier, and was in the Far East. He was in the Bay of Japan when the Atom bomb was dropped. This bomb shortened the war considerably. It was a bomb that devestated the country. Where there had been cities and people, there was nothing but devestation. My brother survived the war, but was never quite the same again. It deeply affected him. He married and had children, but suffered with his nerves and would shout out in his sleep.
