Breaking news!
The ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Correspondents' Charity Dinner has now raised £1 million since its inception!
Leading ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ correspondents stepped out of the newsroom on Monday 4 July 2022 to join us for a glamorous evening with our guests in the Grand Ballroom at The Langham, London.
Our flagship charity dinner was hosted by ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Political Editor Simon Jack, who kept us entertained throughout the evening.
Each table was hosted by a leading ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ correspondent and throughout the evening guests had the opportunity to ask them about life in front of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ cameras and behind the scenes. Correspondents included ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Media Action trustee Zeinab Badawi, Michael Burke, Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt.
After the meal, it was time to take a moment and reflect on what had brought everyone together. Guests were immersed in an audio drama experience where they heard 1 of five stories from women and girls that ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Media Action works with around the world.
Jane Hill then delivered an emotive speech about the work ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Media Action does to support these women and girls. You can read more about these stories here.
Following the pledge moment, the auctioneer, Tom Best, facilitated the battle for an array of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ prizes, including the opportunity to enjoy a day at the Wimbledon women’s finals with a backstage tour.
The evening was rounded off with an after-dinner speech from ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Middle East Editor Jeremy Bowen, who captivated guests with hilarious and insightful anecdotes about life as a ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ correspondent.
