In Rip Off Britain on 15 April 2025 we discussed service charges and various fees which can come as part of living in a designated retirement property.
As we reported, many people find this type of property suits them in later life. But some properties incur fees, which family members have found can impact their value when they come to be sold.
Residential property tribunals allow these fees to be challenged in certain circumstances. Each nation of the UK has its own separate tribunal to deal with disputes.
England has five different regional tribunals, sometimes known as the ‘first-tier property chamber’. Further details on those regional tribunals can be found on this Government website:
