Documentary series following three aristocratic families struggling to hang on to their historic homes. The Boyles have lived at Kelburn Castle on the Ayrshire coast since the 12th century and were once one of the wealthiest families in Scotland. The current occupant, Patrick Boyle, 10th Earl of Glasgow, believed that by creating a country park and opening up the castle for dinners and tours he could make Kelburn pay for itself, but he has lurched from one financial crisis to another.
