Ben, Jay and Phil are questioned individually. The boys state Jay was working on a car while Ben helped. Shirley鈥檚 describes discovering Heather鈥檚 body to DS Crisp. She鈥檚 bemused to see Andrew led in for questioning. Back at home, Shirley鈥檚 devastated when George鈥榮 taken into care while she鈥檚 part of the murder investigation. When upset Jay flees, Ben finds him in the Arches and seeks reassurance they鈥檙e still brothers. Jay鈥檚 cold with him, Ben produces Jay鈥檚 Stag hoody, grimly promising to look after him. Billy tells the police Andrew mentioned a fight with Heather when they were in the Vic. Shirley concludes she deleted Heather鈥檚 voicemail but remembers Heather saying Andrew was at the door. Ben鈥檚 horrified when Ian guiltily admits he told the police Ben lied. After a sleepless night, Billy arrives - Heather鈥檚 body鈥檚 being moved. As the Mitchells watch Heather鈥檚 body being wheeled out, Phil runs around the corner and vomits. Ben follows, telling him it鈥檚 over.
Rose lies that she and Andrew were playing bridge all afternoon. At the police station, Andrew tells DS Crisp he and Heather planned to elope. Crisp tells Andrew Rose鈥檚 statement contrasts with witnesses placing him at the Vic. Crisp brings up Andrew and Heather鈥檚 argument in R&R and Andrew鈥檚 time in prison for GBH. Crisp presents Andrew with the empty envelope and his train ticket. Although Andrew insists the wedding money was stolen by a tramp, Crisp accuses Andrew of stealing it and arrests him for Heather鈥檚 murder.
Dot and Cora are intrigued by police sirens on the Square. Cora tells Dot she was mugged once. Patrick breaks the news that Heather鈥檚 dead. Later, Cora finds Dot busily sewing; intent on finishing Heather鈥檚 wedding dress. Dot thinks every time she cares for someone they鈥檙e taken away and throws Fat Boy out.
