Not so long ago, every service in an Irish Presbyterian Church featured the singing of at least one 鈥渕etrical Psalm鈥� 鈥� Psalms rewritten into poetic verses to 听make them more singable 鈥� and often sung in four part harmony. 听It鈥檚 a musical tradition going back to the reformation 鈥� but these days, Presbyterian churches are more likely to be singing modern Christian songs. 听听In a special programme听Kist o Wurds听will be looking at where the Metrical Psalms came from 鈥� and where they鈥檝e gone.
