Sir Mark Elder continues introducing his choice of great symphonies from the Proms - this time it's Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms, a masterpiece of devout musical gesture, reimagining religious rituals on a symphonic scale. Commissioned in 1930 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, it is performed by the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales, conducted by Thomas Sondergard.

The programme also includes an additional performance in Mozart's enduringly popular 'Jupiter' Symphony.
