Junk Food Café

Dougie helps out at a pop-up café in Edinburgh that is playing its part in reducing the amount of food that goes to waste. The Café takes food destined for the bin and creates meals. Customers at the café then decide how much they are prepared to pay for the food.
Young Crofter

Sarah travels to Rogart to meet Maddy Norval and her partner, Rob who are trying to establish themselves as Crofters. With the average age of a 21st century Crofter being over fifty, the Government is keen to encourage more young people into this traditional form of small-scale farming.
GM

Euan investigates the on-going controversy over Genetically Modified food. He visits the James Hutton institute near Dundee which is using GM to create new varieties of disease-resistant potato. He also meets Archie Gibson of seed-potato giant, Agrico, which uses traditional cross-breeding techniques to create new varieties of potato.

Dougie completes his series of journeys around the North Coast of Scotland with a trip from Gairloch to Inverness via Loch Maree.
