Her appearance in the programme coincides with the release in the UK of a new film by Rob Curry and Tim Plester, 'The Ballad of Shirley Collins', which explores her career, including the period when she was forced temporarily to retire due to an injury to her vocal chords, and her relationship with her then lover, the celebrated ethnomusicologist Alan Lomax.
