Bruce MacGregor celebrates female musicians through an interview with Liz Carroll.
Ahead of International Women's Day, Bruce celebrates the music of female performers, including an extended interview with American fiddler Liz Carroll we recorded at Celtic Connections in January. Liz is from an Irish family in Chicago and has composed so many tunes which are enjoyed by musicians across the world and is widely regarded as one of our finest living fiddlers. She describes some of the unusual ways she has written down tunes that have come into her head, and the memorable occasion when she played for President Obama on St Patrick's Day.
