Making a debut...

International pianist Benjamin Grosvenor will perform in Scotland next month. He joins Jamie to talk about his trip, the music he’ll be playing and his new projects for 2022.

International pianist Benjamin Grosvenor is in his late 20’s and has already released 7 albums with Decca. He’ll be in Scotland this February making his debut with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and he joins Jamie to talk about his trip, the music he’ll be playing and his new projects for 2022. Jamie’s Album Of The Week comes from Grammy Award-winning mezzo soprano Sasha Cooke and we’ll hear the music she commissioned that depicts the human experiences of the 2020 Covid Pandemic. Plus there’s music by Elgar, Dowland, Debussy and little-known Russian composer Leokadiya Kashperova.
