Making a debut...

International pianist Benjamin Grosvenor will perform in Scotland next month. He joins Jamie to talk about his trip, the music he鈥檒l be playing and his new projects for 2022.

International pianist Benjamin Grosvenor is in his late 20鈥檚 and has already released 7 albums with Decca. He鈥檒l be in Scotland this February making his debut with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and he joins Jamie to talk about his trip, the music he鈥檒l be playing and his new projects for 2022. Jamie鈥檚 Album Of The Week comes from Grammy Award-winning mezzo soprano Sasha Cooke and we鈥檒l hear the music she commissioned that depicts the human experiences of the 2020 Covid Pandemic. Plus there鈥檚 music by Elgar, Dowland, Debussy and little-known Russian composer Leokadiya Kashperova.
