Karen Cargill performs Mahler with the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ SSO
Celebrating Scotland’s classical world, Jamie MacDougall highlights the work of the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scottish Symphony Orchestra in concert and other Scottish artists and ensembles.
Jamie Macdougall shares a recent performance of Mahler’s stunning Das Lied Von Der Erde, by Scottish mezzo soprano Karen Cargill, tenor Brenden Gunnell and the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scottish Symphony Orchestra conducted by Alpesh Chauhan. There’s Christmas music from the choir of St Mary’s Cathedral in Edinburgh and a recent release from the Choir of St Machar’s Cathedral in Aberdeen. Tchaikovsky’s spectacular second piano concerto brings some festive cheer with the RSNO and pianist Xiayin Wang, plus Jamie shares news of choral concerts by the Inverness Singers, the RSNO Youth Chorus, Dundee Choral Union and Aberdeen Choral Society.
