Today's programme includes various recordings of chamber music by pianist Sir Stephen Hough, including works for cello and piano by Robert Schumann.

Plus Brahms's Violin Concerto is performed by Alina Pogostkina, with the Salford-based 蜜芽传媒 Philharmonic orchestra. Brahms' (only) violin concerto was written in 1878, and dedicated to his friend, the renowned violinist Joseph Joachim. The concerto is also considered a cornerstone of violin repertoire.
