The Revd Paul Robinson
The Revd Paul Robinson, minister of the United Church in Rhyl, reflects on the place in God’s world for every one of us. And why did Jesus choose a motley crew to accompany him?
The Revd Paul Robinson, Minister of the United Church in Rhyl reflects on the place in God’s world for each and every one of us. During the service we hear readings from Mark’s Gospel which give an account of Jesus’ early ministry and its impact on people who came from near and far to witness his teaching and healing. Then there’s the selection of a rather motley crew as his twelve disciples. Paul asks why these guys? And, how - with this bizarre bunch - could Jesus hope to change the world both then and now?
Readings:
Mark 3: 7-12
Mark 3: 13-19
Hymns include “Praise my soul the King of heaven”, “Speak O Lord as we come to you”, “Take my life and let it be” and “Go forth and tell”.
