Offering laughs and musical merriment, Variety Bandbox started life at the end of the Second World War.

It was broadcast on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ General Forces and later transferred to the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Light Programme running until 1952.

The series helped to launch a number of stars.

In this episode, there's ragtime with Jerry Allen on the organ and Barbara Leigh sings Some Day My Heart will Awake.
