Oasis鈥� album Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants marks its 25th anniversary. Inspired by the inclusion of a maxim attributed to Sir Issac Newton, 鈥渟tanding on the shoulders of giants鈥� being added to the rim of the 拢2 coins that were freshly minted a couple of years before, Noel Gallagher pointedly dropped the second S from his shoulder as he borrowed the phrase for the title of his band鈥檚 fourth album.
PJ Harvey鈥檚 album To Bring You My Love celebrates its 30th birthday, and that record gets underway with its title track whose opening line is 鈥淚 was born in the desert.鈥� And that is a perfectly accurate quote from Captain Beefheart鈥檚 song Sure 'Nuff 'n Yes I Do, which opens his debut album, Safe As Milk, with the same declaration: 鈥淚 was born in the desert.鈥�
