Coppersmith Ian wants to get out of the hobby zone but needs to develop his skills. Crocheter Louise needs to focus her work to be able to go full-time. Will Dom be able to help?
Stepping into the beautiful gardens in Oxfordshire today are Ian from Glasgow and Louise from Hull, both hoping to turn their crafts into successful businesses.
Engineer Ian discovered his creative passion as a child whilst playing in his dad’s workshop. Now he’s decided it’s time to get out of the hobby zone and make a business from sculpting copper. Ian’s right at the start of his journey. His mentor, Ian Gill, thinks he has massive potential but also that he needs to expand his skills and create more pieces to really take off!
With 35 years of crocheting under her belt, Louise has plenty of experience, but she needs to bring a focus to her work to drive the sales she needs to go full-time. Mentor Jeanette Sloan wants her to create a core range of products, but can Louise deliver?
Both are given eight weeks to put their mentors’ advice into practice, but with the clock ticking, will they be able to turn their skills into profits?
