Brahms Violin Concerto with Ning Feng from Glasgow
Conductor Antony Hermus presents enchanting music from Prokofiev's 'Cinderella' and Ning Feng plays Brahms's Violin Concerto with the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
This concert from the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Scottish Symphony Orchestra and conductor Anthony Hermus is charged with wonder. The second half features adrenaline, magic and mystery, but we begin with this noblest of the great Romantic violin concertos by Brahms. Violinist Ning Feng lends his sweet tone to a work that is serious, sublime and symphonic. After the interval, Dutch composer Joey Roukens lights the touch-paper with a riotous nocturnal rollercoaster ride through a city of dreams, and we end with Prokofiev’s scintillating score for the ballet of Cinderella.
