Lakha Khan in concert
Kathryn Tickell presents a live recording of Rajasthani folk musician and virtuoso sarangi player Lakha Khan, captured at the 2024 Glatt & Verkehrt Festival in Austria.
Kathryn Tickell presents a live recording of Lakha Khan, a revered Rajasthani folk musician and master of the sindhi sarangi, captured at the 2024 Glatt & Verkehrt Festival in Austria. The sindhi sarangi, a bowed three-stringed instrument, is widely celebrated for its rich, expressive tone, often likened to the human voice. Lakha Khan, one of its greatest living exponents, is joined in this performance by his son, Dane Khan, on the dholak, the double-headed Indian folk drum.
