Brass legend James Morrison introduces an amazing selection of brass music, ranging from classic jazz and big band to contemporary covers of pop and hip hop, and original new music.
Breakdown Brass and the Voodoo Love Orchestra perform innovative covers of Dr Dre and Peggy Lee, the HornHeads put a funky twist on a Dizzy Gillespie favourite, and trumpeter Randy Brecker is featured alongside drummer Antoine Cara. James plays a classic Louis Armstrong recording, and trombonist Dave Steinmeyer goes stratospheric on a big band ballad with the Airmen of Note. Vocalist Eli “Paperboy” Reed is featured with the High and Mighty Brass Band, and the Williams Fairey Band play a classic movie theme.
Plus original new music from trumpeter Sam Ritchie, trombonist Dave Panichi and the bands She’s Got Brass, Gallowstreet, and Young Pilgrims.
