Dawn choruses and workers鈥� songs
Lopa Kothari shares music inspired by birds for International Dawn Chorus Day. Plus traditional workers鈥� songs from Venezuelan herders, American unionists and Sicilian salt miners.
To mark International Dawn Chorus Day, Lopa Kothari shares roots-based music inspired by birdsong, including a track from Ivory Coast artist Ruth Taf茅b茅 about a Nimba flycatcher. And in the week after International Workers' Day (May 1st), Lopa picks traditional recordings of work songs from the archives, including a llano work song from a Venezuelan herder, a country ballad from American unionist Bobbie McGee, and a haunting chant from salt miners in Sicily. Plus new tracks from M脿iri Morrison and Alasdair Roberts, who teamed up to reinterpret Canadian traditional songs with Scottish roots.
