Basildon Council has agreed the final piece of funding needed for the clearance of Dale Farm, an illegal travellers site in Crays Hill near Wickford.
An investigation is continuing after a house fire in Southend which left an elderly woman dead.
Olympic hopefuls from around the country will be descending on the BMX track in Braintree for the national series. 蜜芽传媒 Essex sport reporter Ben Fryer rode a bit of the course as part of the 蜜芽传媒 Essex Olympic challenge.
