Mohamed Bin Hammam: the decision
The Secretary-General of CAS and Mohamed Bin Hammam give their reactions to the annullment of his life ban, and Christian Karembeu ponders the problems in French society.
Matthieu Reeb, the Secretary-General of CAS tells us that the panel of judges were far from convinced about Mohamed Bin Hammam’s innocence, and Bin Hammam will still find it difficult to gain credibility after their decision. Meanwhile Bin Hammam himself insists that he is 100 percent innocent and that, once he’s cleared his name at the AFC, he will retire from football.
France’s World Cup and European Championship winner, Christian Karembeu, discusses the problems that have dogged the national team at the last two major tournaments, drawing parallels with the issues concerning French society. He also says the current squad need to show more humility and respect and gives his views on Didier Deschamps arrival as national coach.
The former Afghan footballer, Mohamed Najib Nehab, tells of his flight from his homeland after the Taleban tried to assassinate him. His family remain in Kabul while he’s in Glasgow.
