Jacqueline du Pré - Song Without Words
Cellist Jacqueline du Pré performs Mendelssohn’s Song Without Words, accompanied by her mother Iris on the piano. The recital was filmed in February 1962, when Jacqueline was 17 years old, for a ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ programme titled 'Jacqueline du Pré'. Du Pre was forced to stop performing when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1973. She died in October 1987 at the aged of 42.
