Northern Ireland striker calls fan, 10, after online video
The father of a ten-year-old Northern Ireland fan says his son's extreme reaction receiving tickets to their Ukraine game in the Euros prompted striker Kyle Lafferty to get in touch.
In the video, Zak McGall screams and bursts into tears before hugging his dad, Richard (pictured in the video, above).
Richard told ѿý Radio 5 live that he “couldn’t believe what was happening” when Kyle got in touch with him via Facebook, wanting to wish Zak a happy birthday.
“It was a lovely message [from Kyle] just to tell us how much the clip had affected him emotionally and the team and how the team are out there playing for the fans and fans like Zak,” Richard said.
Zak added that it was a “ten out of ten” birthday surprise.
