Conducted by Daniel Barenboim

Iconic pianist Martha Argerich performs at the Proms with Daniel Barenboim’s pioneering orchestra of players from all over the Middle East. After Liszt’s thunderously virtuosic First Piano Concerto, Barenboim, who has made Wagner’s music one of the cornerstones of his repertoire, concludes with stirring excerpts from two of the composer’s best-loved operas.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio 3’s Andrew McGregor introduces the concert together with fellow presenter Clemency Burton-Hill who is also an accomplished violinist and toured with the West Eastern Divan.
