The Breaks: From the Bronx to the 蜜芽传媒 Proms

As the 2019 蜜芽传媒 Proms draws to a close, we look back at one of the standout moments of the season: The Breaks.

On Friday 6 September, London's Royal Albert Hall saw the Heritage Orchestra, with Jules Buckley and special guests, slice up and reimagine those iconic tracks that spawned breaking and formed the origins of hip-hop - a culture that has risen from a single moment on the sidewalks of the Bronx nearly 50 years ago.

The concert featured historic and modern-classic breaking tunes from James Brown, Incredible Bongo Band, Babe Ruth, Herbaliser, Madcon, and Poets of Rhythm, alongside LIVE breaking crew 'Soul Mavericks鈥�, UK turntable royalty DJ Switch, singer Mattiel and Alice Russell, and more.
