Beat Beethoven for Sport Relief

Your challenge today is to "beat Beethoven" by running five kilometres (or as close as you can get) in the time it takes to listen to Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony.

Your challenge today is to "beat Beethoven" by running five kilometres in the time it takes to listen to Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony.

This recording by the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Philharmonic orchestra and conductor Ben Gernon lasts just over half an hour. But don’t worry if you don’t want to complete the 5K within that time. It’s much more important to run at a pace that suits you. By running, jogging, walking or wheeling throughout the performance, you’ve taken on Beat Beethoven.

You have until midnight on 29 March 2020 to run your race and help Sport Relief raise life-changing amounts of money to support people living incredibly tough lives in the UK and around the world. All the resources you need to fundraise are available now, along with the FAQs and T&Cs, on bbc.co.uk/beatbeethoven.

So what are you waiting for? Get your kit on and join hundreds of people around the country running to Beat Beethoven for Sport Relief.

One last thing: please take care, especially if you are running with headphones. Stay aware of your surroundings and don’t take any risks - no matter how adventurous the music makes you feel...
