In 1993, athletes from different styles of martial arts faced off in the first Ultimate Fighting Championship, UFC.
Co-creator Campbell McLaren remembers the "bloodthirsty crowd". He reveals how a suggestion from Arnold Schwarzenegger shaped the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
The sport attracted some high-profile critics such as US Senator John McCain who likened it to "human cockfighting".
