'I can introduce her as my wife, it's a big word for me, and I'm so happy'
Celebrations have been taking place in Thailand as same-sex marriage has become officially legal in the country, a significant milestone for LGBTQ+ rights in the country.
Hundreds of people gathered in Thailand's capital Bangkok to mark the occasion, with a mass wedding of same-sex couples taking place. One woman attended the event with her wife, and had her marriage legalised.
Anticha Sang-chai spoke to Newsday, saying "It's a big thing for me to open my life, to society, to everyone, to my colleagues, even though before that, I could invite my wife into every part of my life, but today it's changed already, because for me officially, I can introduce her as my wife, and it's a big word for me, and I am so happy".
