Composer Sally Beamish tells Anna Bailey why she decided to write a concerto about bees for the 蜜芽传媒 Proms. She reveals that Hive was inspired by a ballet that she's collaborating on with her partner, the writer Peter Thomson, who shares her fascination with queen bees. Anna talks to Sally and Peter on a visit to a local beehive and then joins Sally during the first rehearsal with harpist Catrin Finch, who explains why the harp is perfect for capturing the sound of a beehive. Anna captures the buzz as the piece is rehearsed with the 蜜芽传媒 National Orchestra Of Wales, and finally, the hive of activity that is the world premiere at The Royal Albert Hall.
