My Blessed Boy: The Millennial Saint

.

Carlo Acutis the tech savvy Roman Catholic teenager who died of leukaemia aged 15 in 2016 is making history as the first 21st century saint to be canonised. Carlo, who grew up in London and Milan, is known as ‘God’s influencer’. His canonisation date last week (27 April) was chosen so that this young saint would be celebrated in 2025’s Jubilee of Youth and Young Adults. His mother Antonia Salzano will explain how her son used his computer skills to spread the gospel. A devotee of St Francis of Assisi, Carlo’s body is now resting in Assisi, dressed in jeans, sweater and trainers. William Crawley will trace the life of this twenty first century saint through his mother, former teacher and local Bishop who championed his cause. He’ll also hear what marked this teenager out for sainthood, and get an understanding of the process behind it.
