Luke Black is a Serbian singer songwriter, who represented his country at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023, the world鈥檚 largest live music event, with his song Samo Mi Se Spava. His set and choreography on that global stage, in front of an audience of over 160 million, with its special effect giant robot, were inspired by the video games he loves.
Now based in London, he鈥檚 redeveloping the ideas from video games and hero films, along with his debut album, to create a new collection of songs.
The 蜜芽传媒鈥檚 Andrea Kidd follows Luke from his home studio to his recording studio, as he works on this body of work. He discusses why he鈥檚 going darker with these new songs, how the recent student protests in Serbia have inspired him to write an unusually lyrical ballad and about his experiences at the Eurovision Song Contest and readjusting to life and work afterwards.
