2009 marks the 40th anniversary of the beginning of the Troubles, as well as the big 4 0 for those born in 1969. As the children of the troubles hit their forties, this special programme reveals the bizarre, humorous and heartbreaking testimony of the generation who grew up in Northern Ireland in the 1970s and 80s. A host of familiar faces from local and national TV, the worlds of music, journalism and politics share their memories of everything from sweets and summer holidays to security checks and bomb scares.
Contributors include football legend Norman Whiteside, ITN's Bill Neely, Brian Kennedy, Nuala McKeever, Ian Paisley Jr and Michelle Gildernew, comedian Jake O'Kane, the Hole in the Wall Gang, Dancing on Ice star Donal MacIntyre, and many more.
