There But for the Grace of...

Episode 3 of 5

Drama series about a newly-opened public justice centre. Joe insists that Coburn must come clean before someone else does it for him.

Still shocked by Coburn's revelation, Joe insists that Judge Coburn has to come clean before someone else does it for him. Coburn and Joe attempt to reach out to the community, and attend an over the top 60th birthday party that looks more like a gypsy wedding.

Joe tries to convince Coburn that local community stalwart Sarah Myerson could be a way in, but Sarah doesn't take any prisoners. Coburn's pastoral approach seems to hit a brick wall when shop-lifting pensioner Alice refuses all offers of help. An off the record chat with Sarah Myerson helps unlock the puzzle, but when crimes continue to be committed, Coburn has to take a tough line.

A chance encounter with drug user Angie makes Coburn reassess his attitude to street crime, and he realises that many of the community's problems have the same root: Jake Little.

Judge Coburn and Father Jim finally start to talk about the past, and Coburn makes a shocking discovery.

A stand-off between Sharna and Jake Little reveals some surprising news.

Louise keeps up the pressure on Coburn - and finally gets a result.
