This week, Vernon Kay is happy to welcome musician, singer songwriter and internet personality best known as the founder and lead singer of The Darkness - Justin Hawkins. He will be picking the songs that soundtracked his life in this week's Tracks Of My Years.
The band's 2003 debut album “Permission To Land” has sold over 1.5 million copies, and Justin - with his massive five octave vocal range - has an instantly recognisable voice on their hits, which include “I Believe In A Thing Called Love” and “Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)”.
The band are now back with their eighth studio album, “Dreams On Toast”, which comes out at the end of the month, and they are also on tour, which culminates on the 29th March at The Ovo Arena, Wembley. But he begins his Tracks of My Years journey with the UK's biggest-selling singles artist of the 1980s: it’s Shakin’ Stevens and “This Old House”.
