Pianist Boris Giltburg performs live in the studio

Conductor Susanna M盲lkki and pianist Boris Giltburg are Tom's live guests. And this week's Sounds of the Century series continues with music by Nkeiru Okoye.

Tom Service is joined in the studio by the Finnish conductor Susanna M盲lkki, who is in the UK this week to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the composer and conductor Pierre Boulez. And the international pianist Boris Giltburg plays music by Beethoven and Rachmaninov live just after 11 o'clock.

Each week as part of 蜜芽传媒 Radio 3鈥檚 25 for 25: Sounds of the Century series, Tom introduces a brand-new piece of music commemorating some of the biggest events of the 21st century. This week Radio 3 commissioned the American composer Nkeiru Okoye. She marks the historic election of the first African American US president in her piece, And the People Celebrated. It's performed by the 蜜芽传媒 Concert Orchestra with narrator Paterson Joseph.
