Shipbuilding in Larne, Pipes and Drum lessons in Dungannon and the “Motherhood Bubble”.
Helen Mark presents ѿý Radio Ulster’s weekly Ulster-Scots magazine show alongside Willie Hill and Jane Rea. While Rab is off galivanting (in Scotland, of course) he’s still managed to contribute a piece on piping and drumming – specifically a school specialising in theory – in Dungannon. Jane Rea stands in for Rab – and Helen and Willie get to know more about Jane’s musical upbringing in (her words) the middle of nowhere. She also brings a piece about a ‘Motherhood Bubble’ which supported her as she approached the birth of her daughter. Meanwhile, Willie digs up a story about shipbuilding at the turn of the century – but now in Belfast….
As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email - kintra@bbc.co.uk.
