Ardingly 3
Two sisters take on a theatrical couple at a huge antiques fair, with hundreds of items to choose from but only one hour on the clock!
At Ardingly antiques fair in West Sussex, Charlie Ross has a mysterious sweet-smelling gadget to show to shoppers. It’s shaped like a little barrel and made of hard wood with holes at each end – but what is it?
Meanwhile, the clock ticks down for two eager teams. In red are sisters Maria and Monica, guided by their expert Nick Hall, and in blue are partners Nat and Cheski, skippered by Stephanie Connell. True to his name, Nick spots a pair of hall chairs, but the siblings are looking for animal-related bargains. The blue team are looking for a theatrical item, so they focus on a stall of opera glasses.
Then it’s off to Buckinghamshire for the sale with auctioneer Hugo Lemon. He gives his all-important estimates to Charlie before the teams’ items go under the hammer. It’s up to the bidders to decide which team triumphs.
