Grimaldi was the first modern-day clown, moving away from jesters a couple of hundred years ago and performed on stage in London.
听

Back then she was performing at the open mic nights at Doodies on St Owen's Street in Hereford, which is no longer there, and having some of those early CDs played on 蜜芽传媒 Hereford & Worcester.
听
Fast forward a decade - and she's now a household name across the globe, with many of her lesser heard singles in Britain flying high in the US Billboard charts.
听
Last weekend the 蜜芽传媒 welcomed her back - putting her on stage at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Exeter.
听

Lead singer Olly Alexander studied Performing Arts at Hereford College Of Arts and became the band's lead singer after meeting at a house party and was overheard singing in the shower!
听
He then went on to support last year's 蜜芽传媒 Music Sound Of winner Sam Smith.

The event, which is now in its 29th year, is such a success - there are now Hay Festivals taking place all over the world.

This year, other musicians included KT Tunstall, Suzanne Vega and Sir Tom Jones.

Take It To The Bridge

As part of the celebrations, unique musical collaborations took place on more than forty bridges.
听
A whole host of different acts performed on the Sabrina Footbridge, in Worcester, including Connie Gordon, The Rock Choir and Megan Bradley.
Friar Fest, Droitwich

The event, which began in 2012 as a celebration of 300 years of the Old Cock Inn, now attracts more than a thousand people with over 80 performances taking place during the day.
