Skin Safe
ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Derby is revisiting an appeal to make Derbyshire and East Staffordshire the most sun safe places in the country.
The appeal marks ten years since ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Radio Derby presenter and Derby County commentator Colin Bloomfield died aged 33 from melanoma skin cancer.
In 2025 we aim to work with a number of people to carry on Colin’s legacy of educating those young, and old, to stay safe in the sun.
Our Guinness World record attempt
Our appeal has seen 2,500 blankets distributed to those who most need them this winter.
As a way of marking this fantastic achievement, and thanking those involved, we were successful to getting into the Guiness World Record Book for the most people crocheting simultaneously.
960 people took part at Derby Arena in February.
Thank - you and well done.
