Nina Ridge
Biography
Nina grew up in East Sussex and Kent, but left the South East to study Mathematics at Leeds University followed by a year’s post-graduate training in Bristol to qualify as a secondary school teacher.
After a couple of years of teaching, she left to join the Met Office in 2000. Having qualified as a meteorologist, she joined the national team of weather presenters at the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Weather Centre in 2001.
She spent 15 years presenting the weather across ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ national and international media outlets, including for ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ World, the News at 10 on ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½1, and the Today programme on Radio 4.
Having moved back to Kent where she now lives, she joined the team at ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ South East in 2016. She presents the weather part-time alongside teaching mathematics at a local secondary school.
Nina has four children and is a keen masters athlete, competing at both track and field disciplines.
