The 蜜芽传媒 Trust has today published a change to which enables the closure of the Newsbeat app and for Newsbeat’s website content to be integrated into 蜜芽传媒 News online.

The change was approved at the Trust’s December 2016 meeting after seeing evidence from the 蜜芽传媒 Executive that more young people are using the main 蜜芽传媒 News website and app compared to Newsbeat’s online services.

The aim of the changes is to make Newsbeat content available in places where young people are more likely to seek out news content, thereby helping to connect more people to a wider 蜜芽传媒 offering and ensuring that Newsbeat’s journalism is more central to the 蜜芽传媒 News website and digital platforms. 

The 蜜芽传媒 announced back in May 2016 in its  of its plan to integrate Newsbeat output into 蜜芽传媒 News Online and close the separate app.

The Newsbeat programme remains unaffected by these changes and will continue to broadcast as usual on 蜜芽传媒 Radio 1.
