Council submissions to ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Trust consultations and other reports in 2013

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ network news and current affairs

In February 2013 the Trust announced a review of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ network news and current affairs services, which involved a public consultation. The review aims to examine how well these services perform against commitments set by the Trust in the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s service licences, and against the ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½'s broader public service role.

The Audience Council provided advice to the review informed by its direct engagement with audiences in 2013, and its wider understanding of local audiences' needs and expectations of network news and current affairs services.

The Council's advice to the Trust and the Trust's findings can be found below.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Television Services - ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ One, Two, Three and Four

In a second review of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Television, announced in February 2013, the Trust aimed to assess whether each of the four ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ channels – ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ One, Two, Three and Four - fulfilled the commitments defined in their respective service licences. Though the Trust’s second review of ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ Television, it was the first to look at all four channels together, and involved a public consultation.

The Audience Council’s advice to the review reflects what local audiences have said they value in ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ TV and, importantly, where the services could do even more to serve audiences in Northern Ireland.

The Council's advice to the Trust and the Trust's findings can be found below.

ÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ children's services - CÃÛÑ¿´«Ã½ and CBeebies
